There are two commands that the listserver uses to control how your messages are handled. -------- The command 'set piclist repro' causes all of your messages to be sent to you just as they are to the rest of the list. The command 'set piclist norepro' will prevent your messages from being sent to you. 'norepro' is the default setting when you sign up. This causes people to get confused when they don't see their own posts on the list. ----- The command 'set piclist ack' will cause the listserver to acknowledge that it has received and processed your message. The command 'set piclist noack' will prevent this from happening. 'noack' is the default state. It sounds as if the 'bounces' that you are seeing may actually be these acknowledge messages. --------- Send the command 'set piclist noack' in the body of an email to the LISTSERV@MITVMA.MIT.EDU listserv address (NOT to piclist@mitvma.mit.edu). If you want to see your own posts, send the command 'set piclist repro'. Both commands can be sent in one email but they need to be put on two separate lines. The subject line doesn't matter, it is ignored. You should get a response directly from the listserv address indicating your new settings.
