Check that they are the 6000mCd ones. You can
also get 1600mCd and 4000mCd which are not as good.

Efficiency is not a problem, these leds are MUCH
more efficient than thefilament bulbs you have now.
I've used a 3.3F supercap to drive a led, soon
went back to a few small NiCds. Much better capacity
and flatter discharge curve than the supercap.
