When a manufacturer tells you that a compact fluorescent has a 7 year guarantee, they are banking the fact that most people do not track their receipts for light bulbs, to be able to claim a free replacement. It is all based on actuarial science. How many people even send in rebates for products? It is a marketing ploy. -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU]On Behalf Of Spehro Pefhany Sent: Friday, July 06, 2001 9:58 AM To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: Re: [EE]:[OT]: Bulb Life and Practical Jokes At 10:15 PM 7/5/01 -0600, you wrote: >On Wed, 4 Jul 2001 17:14:48 -0600, Michael C.
