Point taken. After I posted the question, I thought hmmmm.. silly thing
to ask :-|

I know the battery I will be using, (9V Duracell), so I'll just leave
the PIC idling along and see how far it goes. I guess that should answer
my own question. The circuit doesn't have to be on all the time, just
when needed for it's purpose, which may take 5 mins to 1/2 hour(?), and
this may be frequent, or infrequent.
