Jack, they REALLY hate the heat. Desk lamps tend
to get very hot from the metal bucket around the lamp.
Some ceiling fittings you cant use compact fluoros
as they blow every few weeks. Try it in a HOT country
with the added burden of 240vac mains! :o)
