Forget the resist pen from RS.  Get a Stadtler Lumocolor RED #313 from
an art supply store.  The etch resistance of the ink is 100% better than
the RS pen or the Sharpie.  Do not clean the ink off after etching; it
keeps the copper from oxidizing and makes a good solder flux.
