I have the code/schematic for my PIC based DMX512 transmitter and receiver
posted on my homepage (http://www.qsl.net/n5tle/).  These are based around
the 16C76 and 16F876 parts.  The receiver project will show you one way to
receive the DMX data.  Hope this helps.
