From what I heard, they took the heart and soul of an Amiga (the video portion) and put it into the PC version of the toaster. All the PC did was control the video portion of the Amiga that was inside the toaster. What is the depressing portion is that the PC version of the toaster was cheaper than the Amiga version. Or at least this used to be the case.
