Yeah, get the ICE. I assume from the reference to "the hardware guys" that this is a commercial product. Explain to your boss that buying you the ICE is cheaper than having you mess about with a stone axe and bone knife. How much time have you already lost? Too bad it's too late for that. The ICE-2000 is well priced, less than the cost of a wasted day or two.
