Do typical 44780 lcd modules have wildly varying contrast, given the same bias setting, or did i just pick a crappy supplier ? i have 100 20x4 LCDs, and, on the 2 or 3 samples i got, grounding the BIAS pin (3) got me about the contrast i wanted. i ordered 100 of them, and, on this run, i'm ending up with too much contrast. they also have a version of this board that anouther one of their customers uses thas a 5k resistor on board that limits contrast, but that seems to limit it too much for my application (can hardly see the chars that way) anyway, i just want to know if, given a static BIAs volts (say, ground) on a run of 100 LCD's, should i *expect* to have wildy varying contrast over the 100 boards ? thanks, david dunn -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
