These connectors are a 2.5mm pitch right-angle, thru-hole PC-board mount. (They fit fine into 0.1" spaced holes). The minimum order quantity is 1000 units at US $ 50.00 per 1000 (ie: US $0.05 per each). Do these really have enough advantages over a ubiquitous 0.1 inch header to justify all this effort? (like, is there a locking mechanism that works REALLY well?) Does anyone have a source for a ready made battery charger that will work with the individual cells after they are broken out of the packs? They have no nub on the positive side and so won't work in the standard NMH "Renewal" unit. My Palm Pilot is getting hungry. I think it would be easier to modify the charger than find one DESIGNED to charge "pack-destined" cells. (retail) NiMH cells work pretty good in a palm pilot - one of the internet battery sites has instructions for how to configure it to know that it's using NiMH cells (although I'm not entirely sure what this does :-) I was also lucky enough to receive an "extra" case of these batteries, giving me more than I can possibly use, and am willing to split it up (something like 20 boxes of 24 battery packs each) and send them out for the cost of shipping (actually, each box is almost exactly two pounds, so there's a reasonable chance that taking a couple packs out would save a couple bucks in postage :-( Say $4 for 20 packs "priority mail") Or local people could pick them up at cisco in San Jose (actually, cisco in milipitas as of friday...)
