Dear hellscreiber experimenters, Andy N1YEW on 2001-06-07 03:55:12 PM > sure you can encode hellscreiber with a pic( > http://home.clear.net.nz/pages/bryanjr/projects/hellbeacon.shtml > ).... Unfortunately, I can't seem to access the link on that page to "more details" http://www.conquestsys.com/hamradio/hellschreiber.html Is this a stale link ? Fortunately, a quick web search picked up other sites with details: http://iz8bly.sysonline.it/Hell/ http://members.nbci.com/ZL1BPU/ http://www.qsl.net/zl1bpu/ > > but can you receive it? > > i think one could using an LCD and an f84 and a tone decoder. A graphics LCD, of course ... that would be interesting. It looks like it would automatically handle arbitrary symbols. Including European letters with the little dots and slashes over them ... I wonder if Chinese letters would be legible ? I wonder if the PIC could emulate gray-scale somehow ? I've played with a relatively small (128x64 pixel) graphics LCD from Okaya Electric America Inc. http://www.okaya.com/ There's some bigger ones from Optrex listed in Digikey http://www.digikey.com/ . What other graphics LCD panels are people using ? What's a good source for low-cost panels ? -- David Cary -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The PICList is archived three different ways. See http://www.piclist.com/#archives for details.
