Being from Indiana, let me offer this bit of trivia. When I was in grade school we went on a field trip to the capitol building. The tour guide told us that, according to Indiana state law, whenever a vote is conducted using the electronic button voting thingy, that whatever is voted upon could become a law, regardless of how silly it may be. Also, only legislators can conduct a vote (meaning only legislators can push the buttons). So when they test for an affirmation, whatever was "voted" on becomes law. Consequently, there are a lot of strange laws in Indiana.
