Hi, I've made a small serial programmer now. It will be necessary to add two more lines. DEVICE_CLOCK, TEST, and MCLR.= MCLR is used in pic16f84, for example, and the other two lines are used = in=20 pic17c7XX devices, for example. S= omething that could be used for production as well as development. The ha= rdware would be=20 simpler than a full 48pin universal porgrammer. You would need only half = a dozen or so lines like CLK,DATA_IN,DATA_OUT,RESET, /RESET,+5V, GND etc.= The=20 software part would probably be no less a task though. The physical conne= ction could be a socket, like on the MPLAB ICD, connecting to custom cabl= es for ICSP. > > >Brent Brown >Electronic Design Solutions >16 English Street >Hamilton, New Zealand >Ph/fax: +64 7 849 0069 >Mobile/text: 025 334 069 >eMail: brent.brown@clear.net.nz > >-- >http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (l= ike ads or off topics) for you.
