Good luck, it took me 3 weeks of stuffing around before i got my LCD to
work. I spent 2 weeks trying to get it to work from a LPT port and 1 week
to get it running on a PIC. NOTE: I DID NOT GET IT TO WORK USING AN LPT port. !

That doesnt exactly make things easier.. perhaps you should start with the
standard 8 bit mode.

Some of the LPT port pins are actually inverted... thats something you need
to double check, if in doubt use a multimeter.
