Russel, I've been using the FED PIC C system for over a year now. It wa= s=20 pretty shaky at first but they kept working on it and improving it. Now= =20 it has blossomed into a rather nice product, so nice that I decided to=20 purchase the PIXIE software from them as well. I am just finishing a 64= =20 contact closure encoder/decoder project over a 485 link with it. One=20 thing that has helped me alot is the external LCD simulation. So I gues= s=20 you could count me in as one who would recommend it. On the other hand = I=20 probably wouldn't have much success with C on the PIC if I did not first= =20 use MPLAB with assembly. Using MPLAB and assembly will force you to=20 learn the chip in more detail and provide a good knowledge base before=20 moving to a higher language.
