>Just imagine if someone were to found >a backdoor into Outlook.... and Outlook >is used in countless of government agencies >around the world. Poor Bill will really be poor then >if not convicted as a criminal. Dear Peter, money changes everything... Have you ever realized the power of VBS (Visual Basic Script)??? It can do **everything** in your system. A well-trained VB programmer can= even modify the kernal of windows and make it do everything he can! See= the most common virus (viri?)...it TAKES AWAY the control of TCP/IP and= can do ANYTHING it likes. It sends e-mails and in a virus I got more or= less a year ago, it BLOCKED acess via web and e-mail to all the anti-virus= sites. I tried to go to Mcafee, symantec and others, and always returned= an error. I tried to isolate the virus and send it to datafellows (I use= F-Prot and found it to be the BEST antivirus avaiable) for a vaccine, but= it BLOCKED my e-mails. What is this? A "feature" I call this a **backdoor**. Unintentional or not, this is something I don't want in my system. I have= proofguarded my system in every way I can. But with every micro$oft= program, comes the fear of a new backdoor. Do you know the Office pack= modifies your windows kernal??? Doing what? I don't know. But anyway... Another interesting concept is of "beta testers". Before, we were PAID to= test a program, and show it's bugs before public release. Now we PAY to be= the beta testers of these programs, and the "public release" was changed= to "service packs". Sell first, fix after. Would you agree to buy a car= that should be "debugged" by you? If something happened, like, the brake= pump had a factory defect, and you crashed, and your little daughter died,= the manufacturer of your car would say it had no liability about this, as= you bought your car "as is" and try to sell you a "service pack" to fix= the defects in your car??? Welcome (again) to the real world - that's the way most of the companies= are being run today. Some years ago, Wired published an article about the great cyberwar of= 2002...let me see if I can find it here...Found: Wired 6.02 - the great= cyberwar of 2002. Read it and see what is going to happen. I read this= article in february of 1998, and found it to be quite funny. Now we are= living it. And it will be worse. Be prepared to the worse. Microsoft will= take us to the doom, and we will be glad of it. People lost the sense of what is wrong and what is right. It was never= been so easy to earn money, but it was never so evilish. -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
