I just open the programs using UltraEdit and do my editing there. I also open MPLAB, but I do NOT open the source programs inside MPLAB. I just u= se MPLAB to do the build's like always. You can NOT have the program opened= in MPLAB and UltraEdit at the same time, or you will risk(or be tempted) mak= ing changes in both windows. Changes applied within UltraEdit will NOT automatically update an open source window in MPLAB. Words to live by in this scenario: "He who gets there last, gets there best". Just remember to save your changes (write them to disk) within UltraEdit before re-building the project. I wish UltraEdit could send a DDE messag= e to MPLAB to do the rebuild of the currently open project, but I suspect t= hat MPLAB is not listening. :-( You can have UltraEdit issue DOS commands t= o do the compile and link, that way you wouldn't even have to have MPLAB op= en.
