I have a pic (16f876) hooked to another pic (16f876) using a single wire. If PicAPortC grounds the line, PicBPortB will start a program. This connecting line is only 12 inches long and the fastest this line may turn on and off would be roughly every 3 seconds. Can I use just a 470k pull-up resistor on PicB? Will I need to put a resistor in series and/or a .1 cap (between line and +5volts) so PicB would not get zapped? The fastest this line may turn on and off would be roughly every 3 seconds.
