So Hi-Tech have released an update -7.87- for their PICC compiler = (12/16/17 devices). They would like all users to pay $200 just for this = update or $250 for one years support. The major improvement would seem = to be device support for F versions of older C devices (i.e. 16F73 etc). = My question is 'Does the compiler need to know that it is a flash = device, or is that a problem for the programming software? Is code for a = 16F73 different from the code for a 16C73?'=20 Anyone know ? If I don't need to update, maybe I won't.
