All job files were to be placed in the job directory under the proper
    document number and revision.

    Sure enough, next week, there was a drawing in the ROOT DIRECTORY of the
    server called, you guessed it, DAVID1.DWG.

A regular naming scheme can be useful whether or not you follow it
dogmatically...  Any reduction in the quantity of "WTF is THAT file" is
better than nothing.
