That would be the 12C508A.  It is an 8 pin part and has a maximum of 6 I/O
lines.  Also, it doesn't get down to $.50 except for LARGE quantities.  Still,
it's the cheapest PIC there is, even if it might cost $.75 in medium
quantities.  I've used this PIC as a watchdog, a morse code tone generator,
a stepper motor controller, and a brushless DC motor controller.
