In fact it may be more friendly for Matlab users, because it usually can accept the ".m" files without any modifications (there is a special "-braindead" option which makes Octave even more Matlab compatible). The Octave may be found at http://www.octave.org, it is open source, and is licenced under the GPL license !!! -- Wojciech M.
