If the LCD will not initialise, then try setting outputs during the initialisation stage and checking the relative timing on a digitial scope (if available). Like I said earlier, getting these things to initialise is usually hit and miss with the timing..... Alternatively, you could always send each init instruction in the sequence every second to make sure it is not a timing issue.... Again, 99% of the time it is timing, especially if you are using someone else's code.....check the delays between initialisation instructions. I think pretty much everyone has been there on getting their first LCD to go.....afterwards, you never seem to have any trouble (!) but that is life. Internal Hello, I am new to this lark! SO don'ty be nasty please! I have a 20*2 HD44780 Character LCD that is showing little signs of life. I have tried everything in the book to get it to work, Tried a maual test circuit - as in Christian Burrows FAQ about LCD's (http://www.teleport.com/~raybutts/lcd-faq.htm) and also tried a pic, But it still doesn't work! - I go throught the power up routine, but then i get nothing, or a black line if i turn the contrast right up, HAs anyone had any similar problems or is it osmerthing that just happens, I have two LCD's and they both od the same thing! - Where am I going wrong? any help would be greatly asppreciated! As i need to finish soon! - IT is a college project! Thank you once again Robert ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
