And I encourage anyone who's never seen one, to build one.  The
effect is quite startling--you always see you eye in the center
of the reflector.

Which is why the reflector is better in this aspect.  This way
the offending driver literally blinds himself.  So when he says
"It's not my fault, it's just where they're pointed" You can say
"It's not my fault, it just relfects what you point at me".
