We have both IAR and HI-TECH in-house. They both produce very good code, and are similarly full-featured. The IAR Workbench has a more "professional IDE" appearance, but frankly I prefer to work in my own mixed environment of CodeWarrior / MPLAB / command-line execution of HI-TECH PIC C.
