The PICList now has 2031 subscribers. As far as I can tell, this is the largest the list has ever been. What does that mean for you? A) when you ask the list a question, a lot of people look at it. There are always a few main people (less than 100) who answer most posts, but if you ask some obscure off-topic question (using [OT]: of course!) there is a very good chance that someone out there knows the answer. B) when you ask a questions that has already been asked many many time and is answered in the FAQ at piclist.com, you are more likely to get flamed (OFF LIST of course!) by people who are tired of laziness. C) the need for calmness, tolerance, polite conversation, brevity and attention to appropriate topic tagging is more important than ever. Please: 1. think before you say something on the list... 2. make a conscious effort to type a kinder, gentler post... 3. snip off the part of the previous post that isn't necessary... 4. put the right tag in the subject line and change the tag if you have changed the topic... [PIC]:, [SX]:, [AVR]:, [EE]:, [OT]:, [BUY]:, and [AD]: The piclist.com archive postbot at http://www.piclist.com/techref/postbot.asp will help you with the last two by making it totally easy to see and change the topic tag and by just supplying a link to the previous post rather than quoting it. Finally, I'd like to say thanks to all of you for making the PICList what it is... ...a collection of really fantastic minds. It has been and will be a pleasure. --- James Newton (PICList Admin #3) mailto:jamesnewton@piclist.com 1-619-652-0593 PIC/PICList FAQ: http://www.piclist.com or .org -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
