>It's no more an [EE] topic than an [PIC] topic; what does "compiler >internals" (a purely software issue) have to do with "electrical >engineering"? It is no more "Electrical Engineering" than [PIC], but I do like to think of [EE] as "Electronic Engineering" in the context of the PicList, and it is the only engineering heading we have. I come back to the point that this thread is more of a theoretical discussion peripheral (excuse the pun) to PIC's, rather than some nitty gritty problem to do with PIC's themselves, even though it is to do with optimisation of the code for the PIC chip. I have this vision of James leaning back in his chair laughing at this bit of discussion back and forth over this issue. I expressed an opinion on which category I thought it should move to if compiler internals was to be discussed and others feel it should stay here. However I think we have said enough on it, or it will have to become [OT] as talking about which category it should be in is neither [PIC] or [EE]. -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
