Does anyone have any RS485 code they would be willing to share? The archive
seems to be a bit bare. There is only one code sample since the beginning of
the list in December of 1993.

Is it true RS232 and RS485 are both just signal specifications? They both
use standard async serial protocols? I know that the practical differences
of 232 vs 485 are:
- single-ended versus differential
- sender-receiver only versus multidrop possible
but doesn't RS485 typically use a 9bit address byte protocol for multidrop
communications?
