Rather than putting dacs on my pic based rs-485 card, I decided to buy a Compuboard 4 channel, 12-bit dac board for a PC pci slot. I installed its test software under windows 2000 to ascertain its board address (E400) is. I then wrote a simple C/asm program to test it under dos (where my application will run). As it is Plug & Play, could this feature prevent my simple test program from functioning. I also installed a Windows 3.1 Plug and Play manager and it says the card is enabled and its address are the same as Windows 2000. Compuboard (Now ComputingMeasurement) does not support this PCI board under Dos or Windows 3.1. -- Donald C.
