Hi,

On the Varitronix site there is a datasheet regarding physical information
for this device...."MDL(S)16265 I2C" and it definately shows SDA and SCL on
the pinout. I was told it was some kind of Sharp interface and that it was
also going obsolete but I was hoping someone might have used one for a
sparse I/O project and have a datasheet.

There is no piggy-back and there are only 6 pins on the edge connector so
it cannot be the standard Hitachi type. AFAIK, these are power (3V, 0V),
contrast, backlight +, SCL and SDA.

Hmm....you sure it's I2C? I got a datasheet from Varitronix and it shows
the
standard 8-bit data bus. Is there a PCB that's piggy-back'd on it?
