What is the most popular and easy to use with Pic basic Pro (any example
links would be great) Real time clock chip? I have a couple of Dallas 1302's
here but need to order the crystals and capacitor's for it but before I do
are there other chips more useful?

Secondly I have a serial output going to a computer in a simple set up with
a resistor in line. It sends data back to the computer etc no worries.
However I feel that all these pins on a serial port are there for a good
reason and somehow I should be using a max232 or simalar chip. Why should I
use it? Is it to aid in the 2 way comms instead of just a single way?
