During my investigations into my current project, radio remote control, I have come across the very thing for you. Go to www.rfsolutions.co.uk and look at the data sheets on their Radio Evaluation Kit. There is a section there on a PC to PC data link, including the use of a 16C73A Pic. You will also find some useful data on Microchips web site if you look at the KeeLoq Devices section. These chips are used in both RF and IR data channel coding.
