Wow, 1000 lookup table entries. I'm puzzled why you need this sort of
accuracy on an industrial heater element, especially at such relatively high
temps.  1/2 degree is only 0.1% error.  I'm not sure you can maintain this
if you reduce the lookup table and do an iterpolation.

I agree that the numerous polynomial computations seem overkill, but not at
this accuracy; they're more of a necessity, unless you put the 1000 entries
in.
