Were I the French bloke with the knife actuated seat, I'd have constipation
from worrying about a false alarm while I was driving my own car!

Around here, the problem is not stealing cars, but break-ins and stealing
stereos.  This is usually accomplished by prying on the dashboard with a big
crowbar.  I would think a good car security system would disable key
functions (like the ignition or the distributor) while turning on lots of
lights and horns.
