I just had a conversation with a distributor who sell an alternative to= the ICD, made by the company (according to what I was told) Transdata who actually designed the serial version of the ICD for MCHIP . The company, Transdata, went on to offer what appears to be a parallel-= port version of the ICD allowing much faster programming/debug times than fo= r the serial device. It interfaces with MPLAB and has its own Windows fro= nt end which, on first impression, looks more professional than MPLAB.....= and supports most C compilers etc. It is a little more expensive @ ~=A3130+= VAT. Does anyone any experience with this product? Do you think it is better= value? Any compatibilty problems? I have been using an serial ICD but no longe= r have access to it. With short timescales, I'd prefer to almost pick up where I left off rather than have a learning exercise for a new "environment"....but I do like the idea of it being faster. Transdata hardly look like a dodgy outfit as they produce emulators for= Mitsubishi M16/RICE etc Regards, Dan PS Transdata [http://www.adv-transdata.com] = =20 (Embedded Simon Nield @MITVMA.MIT.EDU> = =20 image moved 23/01/2001 12:52 = =20 to file: = =20 pic23505.pcx) = =20 = =20 = =20 Please respond to pic microcontroller discussion list Sent by: pic microcontroller discussion list To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU cc: Subject: Re: [PIC]: UK Supplier for ICD?
