Thanks a lot, Dan and Wouter. Quite often, getting info on components is much faster through knowledgeable and helpful Piclisters than even Google! Wouter, here in India (Bombay), this infrared receiver module is even cheaper. I bought it for Rupees 40 which when converted, is around US$ 0.83! I tested the module. It's working fine and is quite sensitive too. Thanks once again! Manufactured by Vishay > Telefunken. I had no trouble finding the datasheet using google.
