Please do as I have done and report these... oh... words just fail me... to their ISPs using a service like http://www.spamcop.com or http://www.samspade.org DO NOT REPLY TO BE REMOVED! All this does is confirm your email address. They might stop sending you email, but they will then sell your address to another spammer who will send you more. Complaining to the ISP and to orbs and blackhole (as spamcop and samspade do for you) is the only way to stop this. You might also voice your displeasure to the staff of open systems by sending a note to them. I have CC'd all of their email addresses that I was able to find in this message. If all 1900 members of the PICList just hit reply to all on this post and type in how they feel about spammers... --- James Newton (PICList Admin #3) mailto:jamesnewton@piclist.com 1-619-652-0593 PIC/PICList FAQ: http://www.piclist.com or .org -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU]On Behalf Of robertf Sent: Thursday, January 04, 2001 07:30 To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: [PICLIST] [pci]: Spam I had recieved solicitations from Open system about a compact pci, as most of the people on this list. I had asked them to remove me from the list that seem to have been mined from this list. Now I get the same stuff only with the address I used to send them the remove request. How do you stop company's from doing so? Yes I can do a filter but I really THEM to do the work. Any help would be great.
