From their November 17th press release: "The dsPIC architecture is expected to be announced publicly mid-2001 with beta sampling planned for end of 2001. Volume production, product samples and related development tools are expected for early 2002." Given Microchip's past performance with regard to production schedules for new architectures, I'd be VERY surprised if they hit their "early 2002" date... Which is too bad, because there will be significant competition for the dsPIC's target market by then, and it would be a shame if Microchip missed the boat. -Andy === Andrew Warren --- aiw@cypress.com === Staff Systems Engineer, IPD === Cypress Semiconductor Corporation === === Opinions expressed above do not === necessarily represent those of === Cypress Semiconductor Corporation. -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
