A rough and ready formula for the pic clock frequency for values of R and C is: F=1/(4RC) (instruction time 1/F or 2 x 1/F if a branch is involved) Bearing in mind that R should not be >100k and C not <20pF (for 16F84) Also the frequency will depend on temperature and component tolerance etc. If you want a more precise clock frequency use a Xtl or a resonator. ------- John PB ----- John P.
