But I was wondering about your feelings regarding bjt RS-232 ports that produce nominal +5v and -12v. Personally, I think having minus-going is pretty crucial. Not too sure you gain a lot using +12 over +5v, however, except possibly for long wires. Big advantage of the bjt ports is low-quiescent power reqs.
