I am developing a product using a 40x2 character LED backlit LCD module. It
needs to be compatible with the Optrex DMC-40202 or DMC-40218 modules
(mounting holes, connector).

Does anyone know the best/least expensive source for these. We ordered some
from a surplus house and they work fine, but of course they don't always
have them.
