Is one of the objections to using pedestrian action to recharge = batteries a case of the gait of your research subjects is not a normal = human gait (as in a crippled person)? I have not seen any mention of = this as being a problem in the thread. To follow on Russell's idea of pumping, would it not be possible to have = a generator made out of a small computer processor type fan spun with a = pump action a bit like a child's top? I am thinking of the sort of top = that was available perhaps 40 years ago with a handle that you pumped = down on to make the top spin, a bit like the push screwdrivers you used = to be able to get.
