Yes, it's a pretty old concept. Remember the watches that never needed winding? They had little off-balance weight and some other mechanics in them and your daily hand movements would cause the unit to maintain enough charge for keeping time. Now most of the big watch companies are selling new $$$$ versions of these watches and advertising the technology as if it's a miraculous new breakthrough. Granted I don't know how the new mechanisms work, but as I say, the idea has been in use for a LONG time. I think this could work nicely on a little watercraft bouncing around in the waves.
