If it doesn't unbalance the turntable, glue a magnet to the edge of the
turntable and place a reed switch or a hall-effect sensor near the edge and
count the pulses over time.

Hello All:
     I am in a pinch. I need to find a complete RPM set-up for an
experiment. I have a  bodine gear motor that drives a round table via a
v-belt.I needed to know how fast it is rotating so I bought a bicycle
odometer which I figured would tell me the speed in Miles per hour and I
could do the conversion to RPM the problem is the table goes to slow and
this cheap odometer wont register. My question... Does anyone know of a
supplier of complete RPM systems that would work either on the shaft or at
some radius on the round disk at 1 RPM. I have found plenty of parts/ways to
build this but I just dont have the time. That you in advance for your help.
