Generally the explorer is very safe to be in, in a crash. I was rear ended a couple weeks ago, by an inattentive driver. I sustained no damage other than some paint transfer on my bumper, though the collision was enough to push the Ex two feet with the brakes locked. The other car, a mid-size pickup, had extensive front-end damage. I also had a run-in with a telephone pole (ice) several years ago. Head on at 55, and all I got was a bruise where the seat belt goes. The car was totalled, as it pushed the engine back about two feet. In neither case, was the car to blame. -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline? Don't AutoReply us! use mailto:listserv@mitvma.mit.edu?body=SET%20PICList%20DIGEST
