Elementary electronics question here.

How can I hook a mike to a PIC input so it triggers at
a certian level?  I am guessing one could do it with a
transistor and pot for adjusting the trigger level, but
I have been unable to rig anything up that works.  Ack.

Vaguely EE related question.. any opinions on the best
CNC routers for doing protoboards?  Looking for $10k
and under price range.  Thanks!

15 years of software programming have NOT prepared me
for the hardware end of things, even if the PIC
assembly came easily at least. :-)
