How do you mean "swings" ?

The data book shows that VDD should be 2.5 - 6.0 with I2C active
and 1.0 - 6.0 with I2C inactive. VDDosc out for the crystal is 1.0 -
6.0V. This covers both of your voltages. Have you got a "funny"
crystal ? Tried any others ? I'll check one of my 8593s tomorrow
