Is there any advantage to using OTP parts instead of flash? I looked at prices, and the PIC16F874 is $5.03 at 1000 quanity at DIgi-Key, and the PIC1674B is $5.09 at the same quanity! Same with the PIC16F84 series. Now if they only made "popcorn" chips like the PIC12C509 in a flash version for the same cost as the OTP parts. I'd love teh ability to be able to reprogram these guys and not spend $12 for a windowed version. -- Ian -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The PICList is archived three different ways.
