Hi Folks,

Recently I mentioned that there was new software to drive a range of
programmers including the PP1, WARP-3 and picstart plus. (This AD is
reproduced at the end of this message.) Guess from some of the emails
I'm getting I left a few details out.

Please note that it is only possible to use this software to program PIC
devices with any programmer other than recent WARP-13s.

This software does support the ATMEL AVR, TINY, MEGA and 8051 variants and
serial EEPROMs with the WARP-13 only. These devices are redunant for all
other programmers even though they are listed in the devices menu.

The in-built serial EEPROM driver is NOT compatible with the WARP-3 or PP1
PIC programmers even though these programmers are able to program 24C and 93C
serial eeproms with existing DOS software.

Sorry I forgot to put this in the piclist AD.

If enough people ask I will make new firmware for the WARP-3 and PP1 so
that it
is compatible with the new serial eeprom programming driver. This is much,
much
quicker than the old PP1 firmware and does the 25C parts as well.

It is not possible to add code for the AVRs to these programmers due to the
lack of space in the 2k 16C57 and also due to the limitations of the 2 deep
stack.

Of course the PICSTART PLUS cannot all of a sudden program serial EEPROMs
or AVRs without a firmware update and I am not signing up to make this
available.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused by myself failing to be clearly stated
on compatibility issues.
